How do I use Sparkup if I don't know the participants?

You are planning to use Sparkup to animate a session but you don't have any information about the participants, therefore, you cannot create participant accounts in the Studio in advance?

Help the participants connect to the session 

In order to guide your participants, you will need to broadcast the information screen on the Cast.

Introduce Sparkup and invite your participants to take their phones, computers or tablets and to follow the instructions on the screen. 

You will see all the neccessary login information on the screen. Your participants will just need to edit their profiles. Here are the steps that your participants should follow: 

1. Go to the URL of your session

Open a browser (see Devices and browsers compatible with Sparkup). The participants should enter the same URL-address that you use for animating your session (sparkup.live).

Attention: Participants should enter this address in the URL bar of their browser and not in the Google search field.

2. Enter the session code

Ask your participants to enter the session code that consists of 5 letters and which is automatically generated when you open a session. Participants can enter the code in the reserved field in the center of the home page. The participants will then be able to join the session. 

3. Select "Log in as a Visitor"

Once your participants have joined the session, they should choose I am a new visitor in order to connect with a new account.

3. Create a participant account

Your participants are now logged in with a visitor account. They can now participate and interact with the help of the platform!

If you want your participants to be able to return to this session later on and to retrieve the results of the session, your participants should create a Sparkup account. In order to do this, they should click on Edit profile on the "Information" page or click on the avatar in the upper right corner of the menu. 

The participants will then be able to enter their name, last name and e-mail address and create their password. By creating an account your participants will be able to return to the session later on and retrieve the session content.
