Broadcasting your activities on different screens in real time
Participants can access the prepared activities in 2 ways:
- In the menu if the lock has been deactivated by the facilitator as explained in Opening/Closing an activity,
- The facilitator can launch the activity and the participants will receive a pop-up message that will allow them to access the activity.
What does "broadcast the activity" mean?
If you are the facilitator, go to the menu and click on an activity. It will automatically appear on your animation interface.
Keep in mind that at this stage the activity will not be shown on the participants' devices and/or the Cast. You will be able to see it only on your animation interface.
In the upper right corner of your screen click on Broadcast.
Here is the broadcasting icon :
By default the button is configured to broadcast on the Cast and on the participants' devices (you can see that both pictos on the button are white).
: Your activity is ready to be broadcast on the Cast and the participants' devices.
: This icon shows that the Cast has not been activated. If you click on it, Sparkup will open a new page in your browser with the Cast (which should be opened on your broadcasting screen).
: The lines on the icon show that the activity is currently being broadcast. If you look at the icon, you will see that the activity is broadcast on the participants' devices but not on the Cast, because the Cast wasn't activated. Click on the Cast icon to install a broadcasting screen, then click again on the button Broadcast.
: Here you can see that the activity is broadcast on the Cast but not on the participants' devices. When the Cast is activated, you will see 3 dots appear next to the icon.
How do I broadcast an activity on the Cast without showing it on the participants' devices and vice versa?
If you wish, you can choose to broadcast your activities only on one type of user interface, either the participants' devices or the Cast, without automatically broadcasting the activity on both of them at the same time.
In order to do this, click on the activity in the menu, then click on the 3 dots on the left side of the broadcasting button.
A tab with different options will then appear. You just need to choose the option that you need:
I am holding an event and I would like to show a Question Wall on the participants' devices and a Presentation on the Cast.
1. Click on the Presentation activity in your menu, then click on the 3 dots next to the broadcasting icon and choose Broadcasting screen.
2. As for the Question Wall, click on the 3 dots and then choose On participants' devices. Then participants will then receive a pop-up message with an invitation to join the Question Wall activity.
Your Presentation will then be broadcast on the broadcasting screen and each participant will be able to ask their questions from their interface by joining the Question Wall.
